About Us
Adams Kid’s Trade school is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty on the small island of Guanaja, Honduras. Breaking that cycle is a difficult task due to the lack of educational opportunities on the island. Adam’s Kid’s Trade school is bringing that opportunity to the young people there who are eager to learn by teaching various trades that will help prepare them to be successful adults. Guanaja is one of three bay islands located just 43 miles off the coast of Honduras. This island is only 11 miles long with a population of about 5500. The islanders are the most gracious and hospitable people you will ever meet.
Each morning an hour is spent in bible study which is foundational to our school. Our desire is to instill character, honest and integrity in each of our students as God reveals to them their true purpose for living.
Our Story
In the year 2005 our lives seemed to be picture perfect. On December 9th of that same year we received a phone call that changed it all. We were informed that one of our sons was killed in a truck accident on his way to work that icy morning. Our 25 year old son, was named Adam. After our initial grief we began to feel a desperate need to help others who were hurting. As we searched for a way to do that God prompted my wife to begin a ministry for other moms who have lost a child. Her ministry is called “Light of Hope.” As this desire grew the Lord introduced us to the Billy Graham Rapid Response team where we trained to be chaplains, deploying to disasters both man made and natural throughout the U.S.. Finally, God has instilled a passion in me to build the Adam’s Kids Trade school on the island of Guanaja.
Progress This Year

Now, more than ever, there is a great need for skilled craftspeople to help rebuild the island.

Equipping these eager students, ages 15 to 19, with the skills necessary to gain
employment and provide for their families, is only one of our main objectives.

In this session we added an electrical class to the curriculum.
We'd love your help!
